Meet the team
Anne Sage started studying wine in 1996 in Boston under the instruction of Sandy Block, the first American Master of Wine. She continued her studies at Le Cordon Bleu Paris with the sommelier from the Paris Ritz; finally receiving the Advanced Certificate from London’s Wine and Spirit Education Trust (WSET). A classically trained French chef, Anne catered for a decade, owning Fat Cat Catering while teaching food & wine pairing classes during that time. Anne also serves on the board of the RI Philharmonic Orchestra and Music School.
Jesse Sgro completed his Bachelor’s in Philosophy at the University of Massachusetts, Boston. He continued his education at Johnson & Wales University in Providence, Rhode Island. It was at Johnson & Wales that Jesse ignited his passion for food & wine, achieving an Associates degree in Culinary Arts. After working “the line” for a time, Jesse’s focus on the world of wine grew. He studied for his Advanced level certificate from the WSET (Wine & Spirits Education Trust) based in London, UK. After passing the exam (with merit) Jesse soon became a wine manager for one of the largest, and most profitable retail liquor stores in the state of Massachusetts. Since then Jesse has worked for a wine distributor in Rhode Island and has continued to fuel his passion by traveling to various wine producing regions in the United States and in Europe.
