From 2008, Querceto di Castellina has applied organic vineyard management techniques with the aim of protecting the original health of the land and vines. This approach makes it possible to produce high quality wines without chemical treatments or altering the environment.
Since its inception, Querceto has been dedicated to improving their agriculture, selecting clones of the highest organoleptic value and increasing their understanding of Sangiovese while paying close attention to its compatibility with Querceto soil. The type of terrain—medium-rich calcareous shale and shell fragments—allows for excellent water absorption and for the roots of the vines to grow deep. The excellent layout of the vineyards, the microclimatic conditions, the density of the vines, the over 6,200 plants a hectare and the low yields allow the wines to express a complexity and elegance that characterizes the land of Querceto.
